What Questions Should You Ask Your Players?

It is really important that you have good communication with your players, it helps you build relationships with them and find out about their motivations as a football and as a person.

Here are 4 questions you should ask all of you players.

1 – Why do you play

Always find out why your players want to play football it’s really interesting that most players won’t say it’s because they want to win a lot will identify the social aspects wanting to try and improve or enjoying the exercise. Once a coach understands why players want to play football you can adapt your approach and increase engagement levels and enjoyment that the players have.

2 – What do you find hard about football?

You can get some interesting answers when you ask players what they find hard about football,they might not even mention technical or tactical aspects they might mention physical or psychological aspects. By gathering a better understanding of what your players find difficult you can find ways to help them throughout your training sessions and increase their confidence levels

3 – What do you find easy about football?

 is always interesting to ask players what they find easy about football Is always interesting to ask players what they find easy about football, by asking this question you can get a good awareness of how they feel in terms of their self-confidence, by asking this question you can get a good awareness of how they feel in terms of their self confidence or areas of the game they think they can excel or areas of the game they think they can excel.. Sometime Sometimes this will be different from what the coach sees and this can open up some interesting conversations with the player. 4 – What do you want to get better at?

All players want to improve but they may want to improve on a different area than the coach wants them to improve on. It is always worth finding out what the players want to improve on themselves as if you can adjust your coaching sessions around this you’ll get more buy in from the players again this will also show you what is important to the player and what they value in terms of their own game and how they feel they want to get better and how they feel they can contribute to the team.
